Guided wild-mushroom and coastal foraging on California's Sonoma-Mendocino
coast - the stretch locals call the Mendonoma. Run by Jerome Joanny, a French
forager of twenty years, based at The Sea Ranch. Small groups. Every foray ends
with a field tasting of what was found.

## Gift certificates

One certificate per experience, bought directly on the site at
https://tontonjj.com/book.html#gifts - emailed as a PDF within a day, admits one guest,
never expires, and remains redeemable for its cash value.

## How booking works

Each experience is booked on Airbnb - dates, payment and confirmation all
happen there. Private and group bookings up to 10 guests, year-round, are
arranged by email. Gift certificates are the only thing sold on this site.

## Permits and licences

Coastal shellfish and clamming: California requires anyone 16 or over to carry
a sport-fishing licence.

Mushrooms: some of the public forest used is Jackson Demonstration State
Forest, where CAL FIRE requires every person collecting mushrooms to carry
their own permit. It costs $20, it is mail only, and CAL FIRE asks for 10 to
14 days. Guests should apply as soon as they book. The form is on CAL FIRE's
Jackson State Forest page under 'Mushroom Permit Information'. If it will not
arrive in time, the guest should say so and the foray moves to ground where
picking is legal.
